Surprises are round
or long and tallish.
Surprises are square
or flat and smallish.
Surprises are wrapped
with paper and bow,
And hidden in closets
where secrets won´t show.
Surprises are often
good things to eat,
A get-well toy or
A bithday treat.
Surprises come
in such interesting sizes-

MAIN CHARACTERS OF THEIR WORKS.
Hercule Poirot.He first appears in the first novel by Agatha Christie. Poirot is a retired police officer from Belgium, with a high opinion of himself, which is characterized by his mustache and egg-shaped face, which have become a legend throughout the world.
Along with Captain Hastings, Inspector Japp, Felicity Lemon and Ariadne Oliver, and aided by his "little gray cells", starring Poirot novels and over 30 short stories, becoming one of the most popular writer.
He has also appeared in numerous films and television series. Some of the actors who have given life have been Albert Finney, Peter Ustinov and David Suchet. The latter has been the one that has best portrayed the famous detective.
Miss Jane Marple.
Ms. Marple first appears in the book "Murder at the Vicarage" (1930). Even then he was somewhat higher, however starring Christie's books until 1979.
It's a British spinster who lives in the village of St. Mary Mead. She is not a detective, but always succeeds where the police fails. Use your instincts and his knowledge of human nature rather than using the magnifying glass to search for clues. As she has said many times: "Human nature is the same everywhere."
The actresses Margaret Rutherford and Joan Hickson have given life to Jane Marple in many TV series.
Captain Hastings.
Poirot accompanies eleven books, from the first to "Curtain". Is someone like Doctor Watson for the detective Sherlock Holmes.
Inspector Japp.
Poirot appears with in the first book of the writer. His friendship with the detective goes back to 1904 when he worked for Poirot and Japp Belgian police to Scotland Yard. Despite their different approaches to solving the crimes are good friends.
Felicity Lemon.
He works as a private secretary Detective Parker Pyne before working for Poirot. Appears in six short stories and four novels. His appearance is short and has no meaning in the stories except "Hickory Dickory Dock".
Ariadne Oliver.
Ariadne Oliver is a very interesting for fans of Agatha Christie, it shares some characteristics and habits of the writer. Oliver is a writer and their most prominence it has in the book "The Pale Horse".
Colonel Johnny Race.
It's a Secret Service agent who first appears in "The Man in the Brown Suit".
Parker Pyne.
It is a private detective, more realistic than Poirot, which first appears in the book "Parker Pyne Investigates" (1933).
To attract customers announced in The Times with the following announcement: "Are you happy? If not, consult Mr. Parker Pyne, 17 Richmond Street".
Superintendent Battle.
Work in Scotland Yard. He first appears in "The Secret of Chimneys" plus four more novels.
Inspector Craddock.
He is the nephew and godchild of Sir Henry Clithering, the former commissioner of Scotland Yard, who had a special respect for the talent of Miss Jane Marple.
Tommy and Tuppence Beresford.
"Secret Adversary", the second novel by Christie introduced a pair of young adventurers, unemployed after working in the Armed Forces. The best book of this couple was definitely "Partners in Crime", which are parodied some characters created by other writers of detective, and even parody the writer herself.
